Terms
These are the terms for using QuoteForte. The Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information. Questions: hello@quoteforte.com.
1. Who we are
QuoteForte (quoteforte.com) is run by Arthur Machado in Auckland, New Zealand. In these terms, "we" and "us" means QuoteForte, and "you" means the person or business using it.
2. Agreeing to these terms
You agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy when you confirm your email in QuoteForte, or when you use the app. If you use QuoteForte for a business, you're agreeing for that business and confirm you can do so. You must be 18 or older.
When you confirm your email, you also agree to get tips and news about QuoteForte by email now and then. Every one of those emails has a link to stop them, and you can also turn them off in the app's Settings. Emails about your account, such as a code to confirm your email, still come when you need them.
3. What QuoteForte does
QuoteForte makes quotes and invoices from what you say, type, paste or upload. It can email them to your clients, save them as PDFs, export them in a file you can import into Xero and, on Pro, send them straight into your own Xero. It also keeps track of unpaid invoices and job profit. Features may change over time.
4. Your email and account
- Your free allowance and Pro are tied to the email you confirm. Keep access to that email.
- An account with a password is optional. It lets you use QuoteForte on more than one device.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what's done with your email and account.
5. Free and Pro
- Free: 10 quotes or invoices a month, plus 10 uses of voice, email import and receipt scanning. The allowance may change.
- Pro: NZ$29 a month for unlimited use and the direct Xero connection. New Pro customers get a 14-day free trial, once per person.
- Pro is paid monthly in advance by card through Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us.
- QuoteForte isn't registered for GST, so no GST is added.
- If the price changes, we'll email you before your next billing date at the new price. You can cancel before then.
6. Cancelling Pro
- Cancel any time in the app: Settings → Your plan → Manage or cancel Pro. You can also email hello@quoteforte.com and we'll do it for you.
- If you cancel during the free trial, you aren't charged.
- If you cancel after that, you keep Pro until the end of the month you've paid for, and you aren't charged again.
- We don't refund part months, unless the law requires it.
- When Pro ends, you go back to the free plan. Your quotes, invoices and settings are not deleted.
7. Deleting your data
You can clear what's saved on your device at any time in the app. To have what we keep on our server deleted, email hello@quoteforte.com from the email you use with QuoteForte. Cancel Pro first. We'll delete it within 20 working days and confirm when it's done. It can't be recovered, so keep copies of anything you need. The law usually requires businesses to keep tax records for 7 years in New Zealand and 5 years in Australia.
8. AI makes a draft, you check it
Voice, email and file import, receipt scanning and "fix this job" are done by AI services. AI can get things wrong: names, quantities, prices, GST and totals. What QuoteForte fills in is a draft.
- Check every quote and invoice before you send it.
- You're responsible for what you send, including your bank details and how GST is shown.
- QuoteForte is not tax, accounting, legal or financial advice.
- We may set fair limits on AI use, and change or remove AI features.
9. When a client accepts a quote
Quotes emailed from QuoteForte include an "Accept quote" button. When your client taps it, we record the date and let you know. This is a convenience, not a signed contract. The agreement for the job is between you and your client, and QuoteForte isn't part of it.
10. The Xero connection (Pro)
- When you connect your Xero, you allow QuoteForte to create invoices and contacts in it, and to read your organisation's name and tax rates. Your use of Xero is under your own agreement with Xero.
- Invoices sent with "Send to Xero" arrive in Xero as approved. If you tick "Xero emails it to the client", Xero sends it.
- Check what arrives in Xero. You're responsible for your own books.
- You can disconnect at any time in QuoteForte's Settings, or in Xero. When Pro ends, the connection stops working.
- QuoteForte isn't made, endorsed or supported by Xero. Xero is a trademark of Xero Limited.
11. Using QuoteForte fairly
Use QuoteForte for your own quotes and invoices. Don't use it:
- to send spam or to mislead or defraud anyone
- to break the law
- to try to get into other people's data or our systems, or to upload anything harmful
- to resell it, or to get around its limits, for example with many emails or automated tools
12. Your data
Your business details, clients, quotes and invoices belong to you. You allow us to store and process them only to run QuoteForte for you, as the Privacy Policy describes. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising. You're responsible for having a proper reason to hold your clients' details, as with any invoicing tool.
13. Availability
We work to keep QuoteForte running, but it may be unavailable at times. Keep your own copies of the documents you send. The app's backup and account copy are a convenience, not a guaranteed archive. If we ever close QuoteForte, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice so you can save your work.
14. Suspending or ending your use
We may suspend or end your use of QuoteForte if you break these terms or misuse it, or if we have to by law. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why first and give you a chance to fix it. If we end a paid plan without you having broken these terms, we'll refund the unused part.
15. Consumer law
QuoteForte is made for businesses. If you use it for the purposes of a business, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply, as allowed by section 43 of that Act. If you're not using it for a business, that exclusion doesn't apply and you keep your rights under that Act.
In Australia, nothing in these terms limits any guarantee or right under the Australian Consumer Law that can't be excluded.
16. Our liability
As far as the law allows:
- QuoteForte is provided as it is, and we don't promise it will be error-free.
- We aren't liable for indirect losses, such as lost profit, lost data or lost business, or for errors in documents you send.
- Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of NZ$100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change. If a change matters, we'll show it in the app or email you before it takes effect. If you keep using QuoteForte after that, you accept the new terms. A change to these terms never raises the price of a month you've already paid for.
18. Law
New Zealand law applies to these terms, and the courts of New Zealand decide any dispute.
